SLQTSOR user preferences

After getting a question on the forum about the SLQTSOR code from the book I found a small problem with SLQTSOR when using a version of iOS that has multitasking. Due to changes in the default behaviour of an app when pressing the home button, the code in the game to save the users preferences was never being run, causing them to be lost.

I’ve posted on the forum how to handle the issue and that post can be found at http://www.71squared.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=495&p=1649#p1649

New readers games

Below is a list of new games that readers of this blog have created. As always it’s great to see what other people are doing. I strongly believe in supporting the community so check out the games below and most importantly of all, provide feedback. There is nothing more valuable than constructive feedback, it’s certainly how I learn and I’m sure the developers would love to hear your thoughts.

It’s not often a developer can get good feedback from another developer on their game, so your feedback can make all the difference.

Things are busy

I just wanted to let the readers know that things have/are really busy at the moment. I’m busy with my day job and I’ve also had hospital appointments etc that have all eaten into the time I normally spend on the blog and coding.

VTM Conference was GREAT

Well, I’m back from the conference. Back to normality and the everyday tasks we all need to do, but oh boy am I excited.

The conference was just fantastic. There were some amazing speakers sharing detailed, useful and highly specific information with the audience. Both Arron Hillegass and Mike Lee did great key notes setting up both days nicely.

VTM iPhone Conference

So I’ve arrived in Philadelphia for the VTM iPhone conference safely :o)

I’ve not had a chance to catch up with anyone yet, but hoping to meet some of the attendees tonight. I’m really looking forward to meeting people and seeing the buzz these events generate. I’ve just been tweaking the prototype project I’m going to be covering in my session on Sunday. I can’t help but fiddle ;o)

Once I’m back from the conference I’ll do a video tutorial on the project as well for blog readers. I’m sure that moving into 3D and showing how to use the CoreMotion (gyroscope) to look around the 3D world would be interesting and I really want to share what I’ve been working on.

If you in town attending then don’t forget to say hi :o)

P.S. I’ll be tweeting over the weekend to #VTM_iPhone

SLQ Downloads

So, after almost two weeks on the UK staff favourites I thought I’d post some info on the downloads. It’s certainly made a difference to what I was getting before it went on the front page.
