Readers Game – Bomb Squad Patrol

I’ve got a fantastic game for you today from one of our readers, Quantumdoor called Bomb Squad Patrol. I LOVE this game.

Bomb Squad Patrol casts players into the role of an Emergency Ordinance Disposal Officer in charge of securing a Nuclear Power Plant that has been booby-trapped and rigged to explode by a group of foul and loathsome terrorists know as the Talibazi. Players must navigate the industrial maze using their trusty sidekick the Crabby Joe Disposal Robot to locate and dispose of all the bombs before time runs out and they explode. The game includes 7 different interactive levels that will satisfy any player’s need for mentally challenging maze and strategy based puzzles.

“Learning iOS Game Programming” – Finished

Yep, you heard it here first, I’ve finished the book :o)

I can’t believe the journey I’ve been on. The first word of the book was written on the 9th July at 19:32. Now, it may seem odd that I can give you the exact date and time, but it was a big moment and something that I made a note of :o)

I was planning on doing a post on the year anniversary of starting the book to say it was finished, but hey, I’m only a month out.

    WordPress Exploit

We are currently experiencing some problems due to a WordPress Exploit that appears to have been used against the blog. This will cause readers to be redirected to random third party websites and try to download windows EXE files.

We are working on resolving this issue and will provide information as soon as it has been fixed.

In the meantime we apologise for any inconvenience it has caused and would like thank all those readers who pointed out the behaviour to use.

    1 Week App Competition

Having finally formalised the approach to the 1 week app competition (sorry for the delay), this post is officially kicking things off. I did make an update to the previous post, but as pointed out, not having an official kickoff with the rules was confusing. I’m also going to extend the time period as well.

    1 Week Apps

Things have been pretty heavy over the last few weeks. Work has been busy and the very last edits for “Learning iOS Game Programming” have come in, plus working on Particle Designer 1.3.

To try and spice things up a bit, Tom came up with the idea of trying to create apps in just one week, start to finish. Tom has done a great job and created a couple of children related apps which you can see in the “Our Apps” page. These are available on the app store and are a lot of fun for young kiddies.

    Particle Designer 1.3 – Preview

I’ve just done a small video so show the remote control feature being added to Particle Designer for v1.3. We are working hard to get this completed ASAP and more details will be provided to a release date over the coming week or so.

We really think that being able to remote control multiple different devices to see what particles look like on each will help speed up the workflow of designing particles.

Hope you enjoy the video and the new feature.

    New Readers Game – Lexagram

If you enjoy word searches then I think you’ll love Lexagram.

Do you like crosswords? Do you enjoy completing a challenging sudoku puzzle? If so, then you’ll love the three-dimensional challenge of Lexagram.
Lexagram is a word search where rearranging the game board is part of the challenge. Move letters around. Rotate rows and columns to reveal different sets of letters. But beware, each found word further limits your ability to rearrange the board.
With over one hundred game boards and nine levels of difficulty, Lexagram will challenge the problem solver within you.

    SLQ Downloads

It’s been a while since I put Sir Lamorak’s Quest on the app store so I thought I’d share how the downloads have been doing.

Apart from this blog I’ve performed zero advertising for SLQ which is most likely why the downloads have just been ticking over.
