Great question and where to begin! We launched our applications before the Mac App store was born and have therefore always sold directly to our customers through our online store. When the Mac App Store was introduced we excitedly checked it out hoping to make it even easier for people to get hold of our apps and this is where the issues started. Long story short, there are two main reasons we are not on the App store just yet
1. There is no easy way to convert our current customers to App Store customers so we would need to support both. Because our apps use licenses we would need to support a version that doesn't contain that code and one which does else Apple will reject it. Not a massive issue, but for a small company it can be a real resource drain.
2. We have seen that the approval process for apps is taking a LONG time, sometimes over 60 days for companies. We don't believe this is workable when you need to get out an important patch, so we are watching the situation hoping it will improve over time.
There are other smaller issues which have been documented by others all over the internet, but for now we are monitoring the situation, so it's not a never, just not now.

We have some fantastic tutorials on Glyph Designer that may just answer your question. Check them out!
Some members of the community have provided superb articles on how to use Particle Designer and we have written an Objective-C class that provides a fully functional Particle Simulator.

I always wonder when I see a tweet deleted (and the view adjusts) WHAT DID I MISS??!??
@justmyfreak Shouldn't reduce performance if you're not doing unusual things. Zipping and unzipping is not something you'd do all the time.
