We’re on the move
John is currently working on moving 71Squared to a new host. This will significantly improve the speed of the site and give us more flexibility and control as well. We are aiming for this to be done with little to no disruption to the website, but as with everything like this gremlins can creep in when you least expect it.
John is also working on improving the signup process for the forums. We have had a ton of spam which resulted in us manually activating new accounts. This is a pain both for new members and us as we get a ton of new requests all the time. Most of which are spam. Hopefully we can improve this to make the signup process automatic again while reducing the spam problem.
Behind the scenes we are also continuing to work on some new iOS 5 based tutorials using GLKit, Particle Designer 2.0 and updates to Glyph Designer. The move to Lion has thrown up some small issues in Glyph Designer that we are working on at the moment and hoping to get a new release our shortly to address them.
