Paper Rocket – Readers Game

Another reader has released their game, Paper Rocket by Gamedivision.

Get ready to fly around like a crazy astronaut in the awesome space flight survival game PAPER ROCKET! You control a badly drawn spaceship. Your mission: DON’T CRASH! Tilt your phone to avoid obstacles while your speed increases by the second.

Test your skills and see how far you can travel without colliding with badly drawn obstacles! To travel far through paper space you will need a steady hand!

Features:

- Intuitive and easy to pick up control scheme
- Runs at a super fluid 60 frames-per-second
- Unique “did-I-draw-this?” art style
- An awesome thumping soundtrack
- Unlockable additional space ships and music
- Player progression and levelling system
- Detailed statistics

Anyone can play, young and old – the ultimate pick-up-and-play game for all ages. There is no difficult control-scheme, tilt your phone to control your space ship. Easy to grasp, difficult to master.

This is a great casual game and it’s nicely implemented. I’m a fan of hand drawn graphics and Paper Rocket uses them well. The game play itself is not complex although is hard to master.

Technically the game is very well done. The performance is excellent with the scrolling being liquid smooth. There may not be a lot going on to slow things down, but it’s still easy to drop the FPS and have that reflected in the game play. This is NOT a problem Paper Rocket has.

My other big plus for the game is the music which I love. Music can make or break a good game and I feel the music in Paper Rocket fits really well.

All in all this is a nice game that has been well implemented. It does join a growing list of games in this genre but that is not a bad thing. Just because someone has already done something does not mean that it cannot be improved upon.

Nice work

Thanks for the kind words Mike! Art, music and smooth gameplay seems to be what most people like about the game!

I will continue to update Paper Rocket with game center support and more content over the next months. I’m adding a story mode right now which I’m really excited about. Any suggestions, feedback, feature additions or comments are super-welcome!

Cheers!
