Happy New Year
Hi everyone and Happy New year.
I don’t honestly know where 2010 went, it seemed to have only just started and then it was over. I know for me that 2010 was a crazy year with the day job and getting the book finished. I got so much done and yet so much didn’t get done.
2011 for me is very much about continuing to create tools for developers, articles and tutorials. Particle Designer was a real success last year and I was blown away at how popular it was. Glyph Designer is our next tool that we will be releasing soon (once we’ve finished chasing down the last few bugs found in beta testing). Tom and I also have many ideas for other tools that could be used for desktop development as well as games.
Tutorials will also not be forgotten. I’m very aware that 2010 saw a distinct lack of tutorials which is something I aim to change this year. There are still a lot of cool things to cover which I think people will enjoy.
This year will also see a refresh to the look and feel of the blog. John has been doing some awesome work on getting us moved over to Drupal from WordPress and is also going to be updating the design. John is also planning on providing his own tutorials on web development. This is a huge area and like me, John has a bunch of ideas he wants to share with people through tutorials.
So, we’re looking forward to 2011 and continuing to work with such a great community of developers. We hope you will continue to read the blog and that 2011 is a fun and prosperous year for all our readers.

I was wondering have you submitted the particle designer app to the mac app store. Will it be there on the 6th?

Hi Simon, particle designer isnt going to be on the app store just yet. We are working on getting glyph designer finished and up first. When we release particle designer 1.3 we will look to put it on the app store then. When that happens we will of course support both app store and current customers the same with updates etc.

I just thought that you might have submitted it while the store is young, as it would no doubt raise the profile of the app. As chances are there wont be a similar app initially.
