News Roundup: Convert first month sales
We’ve had Convert for sale in the App Store for a month now. Here’s what the daily sales looked like for the month…
The total number sold for the month was a hair under 150k. Our total revenue after Apple’s cut was over $100k. The peak sales day was on August 27th with 9,574 for the day. Not a bad launch overall, to say the least.

This is a great article. Thanks, John! I wish the authour would have mentioned more details on his PR and how to go about it. I think that’s one of the bigger challenges a developer has – where and how to start marketing.

Yeah I agree Tony, he hints at Google ads, so maybe Google Adwords. Although in my experience, Adwords can cost an awful lot of money with very small conversions. It may be better for iPhone apps though.
I think a lot of it comes down to how deep your pockets are and they had quite a success with Where To, so maybe had the finances to back Convert.

Macheist founders are rich and strong in marketing.

Yep, Adwords costs can add up quickly with little return! I guess that old saying applies here: making that first million is hard, after that… :-)

Exactly :) Once you have some cash behind you I would imagine the marketing becomes a little easier!
