LetterWriter: Oceans
Why should learning to write your ABC’s be boring? Unsatisfied with existing iPhone letter writing apps for kids, we decided to make our own. Swim through the undersea ocean to choose a letter, and then practice writing the letter using guided strokes against a backdrop unique to each letter. Watch an eerie nautilus float by as you draw a “N”, or watch a volcanic undersea vent erupt as you draw a “V”.
Quote from the developer:
Just wanted to let you know that thanks to some of your tutorials, especially on the sound engine stuff, we’ve been able to launch a game to the App Store.

That really is a well executed app. It’s obvious that a lot of time and thought has gone into it and it really shows.
Great work and I hope it does well.

@Mike & John, thanks for posting LetterWriter: Oceans. I appreciate it!
@Garfield, the background is just made by parallax-scrolling a series of sprites in different layers. The “far” sprites move slowly, and the “near” sprites move quickly. It’s really quite simple; just track a single distance horizontally for your “camera”, and multiply that by different values to get different speeds of motion for the different layers.

Wow! Great!
I have a question. How the background has been made? How it is better to animate a background at menu?
