Safari 4 Beta
Well as most Safari users, I downloaded the new Safari 4 Beta yesterday. Â I have been using Webkit for my day job for the last 6 months or so, so was quite used to the new Web Inspector etc. Â What I did not realise was that Apple were going to move everything around in their latest version.
I actually quite like the blue “loading” bar inside the address bar, as it gives me some idea as to how long I have left for the page to load, so to replace it with a 16×16 spinning thing at the end of the bar wasn’t too good in my view. Â To boot they removed the Refresh button and also stick that at the end, a bit like the iPhone Safari, although it works quite well on the smaller screen size.
I do like the “Top Sites” idea, although mine seems to put in web sites that I have never visited, let alone my most visited web sites.
Anyway, the point of this post was to re-post an article I found this morning, which thankfully points out some nice “hidden” preferences built into the new Beta version, which has enabled me to move everything back to look and work like Safari 3. Happy Days!
Here is the article on how to go about this:
