1 Week Apps

Things have been pretty heavy over the last few weeks. Work has been busy and the very last edits for “Learning iOS Game Programming” have come in, plus working on Particle Designer 1.3.

To try and spice things up a bit, Tom came up with the idea of trying to create apps in just one week, start to finish. Tom has done a great job and created a couple of children related apps which you can see in the “Our Apps” page. These are available on the app store and are a lot of fun for young kiddies.

New Readers Games

A couple of readers games have recently been launched. Its always great to see other peoples ideas come to life and I strongly recommend you to check out these games. We all know how much effort goes into a game and how important feedback is, so don’t forget to both rate the games and provide the author with feedback.

SLQ withdrawn from App store

Sorry for this, but I’ve taken SLQ off of the App Store. As you will see in the release post, a number of blog readers downloaded the game and found that they could either not move or there were no objects in the game. I did not want more and more people to download the game knowing that it doesn’t work.

Book podcast

Things have been really busy over the last few weeks. I’m busy making edits to the book based on the tech reviewers feedback which has been excellent. I’ve also been working on the Particle Designer which you will have seen me post about on the blog. I was also asked by my publisher, Addison-Wesley, to create a short podcast about the book.

While it was a little odd being in front of the camera it was fun to do and you can check it out here.

Particle Designer

Hi everyone

I just wanted to post a little teaser about a desktop app Tom Bradley and I are working on. When creating SLQ it was really good fun playing with the particle emitter but it was very much trial and error. Now the book is in edit I decided to create a desktop app that would allow you to visually design your particle emitter.
