Readers Games
I’ve been delinquent recently in updating the blog with readers games. I’ve recently had emails about games that have been created by blog readers and our tool users and I wanted to post about them so everyone can see the amazing work being done by indie developers.
If you have sent in info about your game and not seen it mentioned on the blog please send the info again to remind me and I’ll get it posted :o)
UPDATE: 22nd January 2012
Bubble: Journey to the end of the world
Bubble is a side scrolling launching game in which you need to reach the end of each world to rescue the the girl and thwart the evil birds.
This project has taken it’s author from knowing nothing about app development to getting this game published on the app store. This is the kind of journey I love to read about and I hope people enjoy playing Dan’s game.
Hold On Jack
Hold on Jack offers a new approach to gaming, for the first time you are the protagonist and your own hands become part of the scene itself. Jack’s world is full of adventures; to start with he spends all his time clinging to edges for dear life. Add to this an array of distractions and unexpected events and his ability to “hold on” is definitely put to the test.
You are Jack and you need all your strength, skill and concentration to avoid those pests without fully letting go.
Glyph Designer was used to design the fonts used in Hold On Jack

PixelBall
PixelBall is an awesome breakout game which brings that old school classic arcade feeling. In addition to the classic arcade feeling, PixelBall features awesome sound effects and background music, awesome visual effects, and awesome level designs. The visual effects include striking colorful particle explosions and a variety of very cool fire effects that you can unlock and attach to the pixel ball.
PixelBall used both Particle and Glyph Designer.
Squirrel Harbour
We are in 2011 AD. The whole of the Teutoburg forest is occupied by
squirrels… The whole Teutoburg Forest? No! A small german city populated by an
indomitable hamster never ceases to resist the invaders:
This small german city is Bielefeld! For some people this small german
city does not exist… For others it is the smallest metropolis in the
world. Here fights the little hamster Schilp against the squirrel invaders.
His cheek pouches filled with the courage and the spirit of Hermann
the Cherusci.
Help Schilp and protect him against his personal “Squirrel Harbor”.
Use your “scary finger” to chase away the invaders. And at the end of
the year protect Schlips well-deserved hibernation. Because if the squirrels ring the “Squirrls Bells” even the deepest winter hibernation is over.
GO: Protect his nuts.
Christmas Sledging
An adventure about a fish called Leebo who loves sledging; he is out sledging on
Christmas eve (past his bed time) and spots Santa. Santa’s sledge slips on an icy patch and drops some presents. Santa asks Leebo to help collect and deliver presents otherwise some houses will go without. Is Leebo (the player) up to the task.
Simply sledge down the icy hills, collect presents, gain speed and jump off the peaks, once airborne throw the presents to the houses using the targeting magic. There are also variations such as speed race, scoring and collection tasks. And a Game Center Leaderboard.
Fans of Tiny Wings (Apple Game of the Year) will be familiar with the dynamics, but landing the sledge to collect presents, and using the house delivery targeting system are additional challenges to add a brand new twist to an emerging game format.
Both Particle and Glyph designer we used during development.
Leebo Jump Seasons
Leebo jump is a platform jumping game.
Leebo the fish dreams of being high in the sky, up with the birds. Help him in his dream, jump from platform to platform and attain new heights. Simply tilt the iPhone (or iPad – its universal), to sway left to right. But beware of Hazards along the way like aliens and a nasty green goo vortex. Various power-ups along the way help you go faster quicker and stronger.
Also collect Leebo Coins to redeem for additional features in the Leebo Mark (built in shop).
(or if you cannot wait, but bags of additional coins with in app purchases).
Plus sant visits throughout December to deliver additional power ups.
The game concept came from the developers six year old son which I think is really cool as I often use ideas from my children as well. They have much better imaginations that I do :o)
Both Particle and Glyph designer we used during development.

These games are awesome. The retro style if pixelball is quite satisfying… I’ll be adding my own game to the readers list next week! ^^
