As summer draws to an end...

It's been a while since my last post so an update is in order. As I'm sure most of you can relate too, life is busy. The summer holidays are now over and my kids are now back at school. These holidays seem to have gone really quickly but I still think that six weeks off is too long. By the last two weeks no matter what you try to do we constantly get "I'm bored....." "I've got nothing to do....". They should try summer holidays when I was a kid with no computers, consoles, 300 TV channels etc.... Anyway, that's making me feel old so moving along :o)

So over the summer I've been working with Tom on what next for Particle and Glyph Designer which has been fun. The support we have received for both products has been amazing and we are working hard to keep new features and functions coming. We are not putting out releases as close together as before, but we are developing new features and the designs for PD 2 are coming along.

We've also moved hosts as well which wasn't as smooth as we would have liked, but things have settled down now and both the blog and software sites are running smoothly again. We are planning on updating the sites over winter and looking at merging the PD and GD sites together.

As I mentioned in a previous post we are also working on more tutorials to release once iOS 5 has been released. In the last week I've been invited to speak again at the "Voices That Matter" conference in Boston in November. This is great timing as I'm going to be updating the 3D game prototype I presented in Philadelphia last year to GLKit with a few extra bells and whistles for the conference. This prototype is therefore going to be what I'm using in the tutorials once iOS 5 is out.

I've been wanting to get tutorials done on the old 3D prototype but with everything else happening and the speed of change in the SDK I've never seemed to get started. With GLKit coming out and the session at VTM this is the perfect opportunity to get that done now.

I can't say too much about GLKit at the moment of course, but I am enjoying using it and it certainly easies the learning curve of moving from OpenGL ES 1.1 to 2.0.

So a lot still going on at the moment and if your attending VTM on November come and say hi :o)
