Glyph Designer – NOW AVAILABLE

We are still waiting for Apple to approve Glyph Designer, so we have taken the decision to offer it directly through the http://glyphdesigner.71squared.com as well as the app store.

The Glyph Designer website is NOW LIVE and you can download a trial and purchase a Glyph Designer license. The price is $29.99 and we hope that you enjoy using it as much as we do.

Be sure to let us know what you think and of any suggestions using the Glyph Designer forums found here.

Thanks for your support

Bought it, love it, thank you so much. The only request I would have would be as mentioned before, being able to use a screen shot (it’s just a nicety) for preview but other than that it’s amazing!

WoOT Mike !! You made it !

Thanks for the feedback guys :O)

A couple of users have had problems trying to run GD, either getting the icon bounce and never start or a crash report.

We are working to track these issues down at the moment, so if anyone else has a problem can you email any info and crash reports to appsupport@71squared.com

Thanks

Mike

I was torn between buying it NOW from you directly or waiting for the app store. This crashing bug is pushing me toward a direct purchase – at least if I assume correctly that updates and fixes will be available first here just because of the app store delay. (notice I’m not saying I’m not purchasing because of a crash at launch issue – faith in you guys )

Do you think you’ll continue the parallel publishing (direct and app store) for the long term? Or would you rather that those of us that can wait for the app store to wait?

Hi rohn

We appreciate the faith you have in us :). The problems we saw are now only effecting one person. The second persons issue has already been found and fixed. The current download includes that fix. If you are having a crash at startup it would be great to get any crash reports generated.

There has been a large number of downloads today so apart from the two reports everything is going well :)

As we have gone direct, that will continue with it and it will be the quickest route to get updates and fixes as the app store has the approval process.

If your not fussed about using the app store I would get it direct. We already have updates based on today which need to be applied and so more time is going to be spent in review :(

I hope you enjoy using if when you do get it :)

Thanks Mike!
I just bought it direct from you and am just starting with it.
Already I’m liking it though – the UI touches are SWEET!!

At the risk of overcommenting… WOW!! THANK YOU!! WOW!!

It was SOOOO quick and easy to make something that just looks incredible and amazing in my app! Thank You!! The low effort this asks for is inversely proportionate to the high results!

To be honest, I was a little surprised at the price when I first learned it, expecting something closer to ParticleDesigner… but the results this provides is too amazing to give it a second thought.

Thank you again! I love it!

Thanks rohn, that is great to hear. It’s great that you’ve picked up on the two key areas that were first on the blank paper when we started to design GD

1. Provide functions for making normal fonts look cool

2. Make the creation of good looking bitmap fonts as easy and quick as possible

We could have launched GD well before Christmas, but we decided to spend extra time working on usability, GUI polish and a re-write of the render engine to make it multi-threaded.

I’ve used plenty of development tools over the years that work but are clumsy. I’m really pleased your finding GD to be the opposite of that.

Thanks again and we hope you like the updates that will be coming :o)
