Moving our blog over to Drupal

I am in the process of moving our blog over to Drupal. The main reason for this is security and I use Drupal on a daily basis in my job.

One rather big issue is that although I can import all the comment user accounts over, there is no way to get the passwords as well. This is a limitation in the WordPress WXR export format.

So, although your accounts will be in the new blog, you will have to reset your passwords before commenting.

This will take me a while to get up and running, so it won’t be happening for a while but just thought I would give everyone the heads up.

I may even get time to refresh the design a little ;)

Regards
Jonny.

Thank you for the warning, John.

Also, if it isn’t too much imposing, I’ll be interested in knowing what advantages do you see about this Drupal I’ve never heard of and whether it took you too much effort to port this website or not. You see, I am responsible of my department’s website and I am always looking to improve and making simpler for others to edit its contents.

Thank you in advance. ;)

Excellent move, Drupal is superb, we’ve been using it for a couple of years now and I’ve never found anything it can’t do.

We’ve been playing with connecting our iPhone apps to drupal using the services modules and REST with reasonable results. Don’t fancy writing some tutorials on that do you? :-)
