Readers Game – Bomb Squad Patrol
I’ve got a fantastic game for you today from one of our readers, Quantumdoor called Bomb Squad Patrol. I LOVE this game.
Bomb Squad Patrol casts players into the role of an Emergency Ordinance Disposal Officer in charge of securing a Nuclear Power Plant that has been booby-trapped and rigged to explode by a group of foul and loathsome terrorists know as the Talibazi. Players must navigate the industrial maze using their trusty sidekick the Crabby Joe Disposal Robot to locate and dispose of all the bombs before time runs out and they explode. The game includes 7 different interactive levels that will satisfy any player’s need for mentally challenging maze and strategy based puzzles.
The execution on this game is fantastic. The graphics, sound and overall polish is first class and I fully expect this to be the first of many titles by these guys.
Developer quote:
The game is built entirely with your engine and was first built using your tutorials as a guideline nearly two years ago. It has evolved as the information on your blog has evolved.
They are currently working on an iPad version of this game, which I will certainly grab a copy of.
I really recommend you check this game out as I don’t think you will be disappointed.
Well done guys.
Mike

Thanks Simon,
Video was made using SimCap to get footage directly from the simulator, then for the video editing we used Adobe After Effects, Garage Band for the music and Maya for the 3D animation stuff.

Mike thanks for the post, and the great tutorials (for Peter). Peter is an amazing guy to work with. I didn’t know anything about sprite graphics or tile maps. Peter taught me everything about preparing the graphics for this game. Thanks to everyone for the nice comments about the game.
