What does your rig look like?

One more thing….

I recently took a photo of my setup for a friend and I thought it would be fun to see what others setup looks like. I’ve posted by photo below and I’d be interested to see how you guys are set up :o)

Did you tidy your desk up specially for this photo!

mike  on June 11th, 2010

@iamflimflam1, no :O) I really can’t work with an untidy desk so I keep it as clean as possible.

@AptoTech, I love that wallpapaer

Nice sets! I don’t want to change the topic but how do ya’ll like the wireless keyboard and magic mouse? I definitely want a keyboard but I thought I might miss the keypad and I’ve heard the magic mouse is really uncomfortable.

Petraeus Prime  on June 11th, 2010

@jnjosh, what cheat sheets are those you’ve got pinned to your wall? I’ve got about 20 different sheets ranging from sql server to ruby on rails.

jnjosh  on June 11th, 2010

@Ralph: I have the keyboard at home and love it, the magic mouse infuriates me… They should have called it the Magic Palm Scroll.

@Petraeus: Cheat sheets are for git (always forgetting the non-normal things), javascript, css, and regex…

@Ralph, I really like the smaller keyboard. I also have the larger version with the num pad and thought I would miss it, but to be honest I don’t. It took a while to get used to the keyboard being smaller, but with the space it saves and lack of wires I’m really pleased with it.

Love that setup, I want to get an extra monitor but I was hoping Apple would make a larger version, 27-30inch. I’m waiting………Gonna get an Ipad when they come to sweden.
And I can’t wait for the Iphone 4…..

This is very cool. We all spend so much time in front of our computers that’s its really interesting to see what that environment looks like for readers of the blog.

@Drew, I LOVE your room. I really like the retro mario look and that projector looks fantastic :O)

@FoxtrotF, I like your cheat sheets on the wall about GL_TRIANGLES, GL_TRIANGLE_STRIPS etc :O)

What is the graphics package you are using in the photo?

Mike

FoxtrotF  on June 14th, 2010

@mike, you mean on the monitor? (Autodesk Maya 2010)

FoxtrotF  on June 14th, 2010

@jnjosh, great “8 core” monster under the table :))

mike  on June 14th, 2010

That is a monster machine. @jnjosh, what do you use all the horsepower on?

Mike

jnjosh  on June 15th, 2010

@FoxtrotF, @mike yeah, possibly a little overkill. I run a windows VM for AutoCAD development, but also have mac/iphone/ipad projects – sometimes at the same time.
