New Readers Games
A couple of readers games have recently been launched. Its always great to see other peoples ideas come to life and I strongly recommend you to check out these games. We all know how much effort goes into a game and how important feedback is, so don’t forget to both rate the games and provide the author with feedback.
It’s also great to see some really innovative ideas being used that make the most of the iPhone platforms multi-touch capabilities. I just wish I could come up with some unique game ideas :D
PINCH
In PINCH, players must guide little coloured balls called Norbs, through mazes; overcoming obstacles by PINCHing them apart to separate them into smaller Norbs, and PINCHing them together to merge them into larger Norbs. Not only that, but PINCHing Norbs of different colours will make new colours. This allows them to access other areas of the maze by passing colour barriers. The challenge is in using logic and observation to figure out how to get 100%, or at least the minimum requirement of Norbs to the end of each maze.
This is a great game with a really great concept. The use of touch and how you use it in the game play is brilliant and from the reviews on the app store I think this is going to be a real hit.

Touch Off
Are you quick on the withdraw? Do you have the fastest finger in town? Test your reflexes against up to 3 other players, or even pit your left hand against your right in this fast-moving contest. Faster than a speeding bullet, quicker than a runaway train, TouchOff is quicker than something that’s really quite rapid, like um, a rabbit or maybe a greyhound
We all know what its like when you’ve had a few drinks with your mates, one thing leads to another and you end up challenging each other in all sorts of different ways. This game is perfect for those situations.
I hope you enjoy them

Mike,
How does one submit a reader game to you for inclusion on your website? I have one that just went live. I don’t think I used any code, but your tutorials were very helpful.
Thanks,
Rob

Mike,
What is the desired mechanism for submitting a readers game to you? I can’t find a link or your email listed on the site anywhere. I did send an email to your name at this domain .com but never heard anything and wondered if it was received.
Might be good to have a little link somewhere?
Thanks!

Hi Peter
The email should have worked, but I can’t find an email checking my inbox. The email should be mike@71squared.com. Just pop all the details of the game, links etc into an email and what you used/got from the tutorials etc and I’ll get it posted.
I think the idea of a link is a good one. I’ll get that sorted out :o)

Hey Mike
Sent another email with lots of info and a promo code so you can have a free download :) It’s coming from peter at trennum (dot) net in case you need to check your junk folder. Please let me know if you received it or not, I’m excited for you to see what I’ve done with your engine :)
Thanks!
