What are you wishing for?
With WWDC approaching fast I thought it would be interesting to see what people are wishing for in terms of announcements. I’m certainly hoping for a good upgrade to the current iPhone 3G with better camera, better performance etc, but I’m also interested to see if they are going to extend Mobile Me at all and any announcements around their other software products such as iLife and iWork.
I would really like to see some info on a new device such as a tablet. I’m not sure this will happen, but I would LOVE to get my hands on something like the iPhones big brother, I think that would be very cool.
There are tons of rumors floating around at the moment on what the new iPhone will look like, what features it will have etc and I’m sure some of them will be in the final product.
It would also be good to see Jobs back in the game. I’m sure he has been working on stuff while off anyway, but having him back to full strength and up front presenting would be great. Again, not sure its going to happen at WWDC but I’m hoping he will be back soon.
So, what are you hoping for from WWDC and from Apple in general over the next 12 months?
Mike

I’d like them to intergrate a camera in the iPod touch and develope a camcorder software. I’d alsow like it if they improved the features of the camera (zoom, ect…)
As for Steve Jobs I wish he return to apple and comes up with some new wacky ideas…

I’d love a tablet, but you know it will be very expensive. They say the company that makes the LCD for the iPod/iPhone is producing one that is 10 x 6
…
If anyone could pull off a tablet it would be apple, Microsoft tried pushing tablet PC’s but the software stunk. But a tablet with iphone software ummmmm that would be nice

Well… my wish is very small… I only want the release of Snow Leopard and the new iPhone SDK :)

Just wondering who’s all heading out to WWDC this year. Are you Mike? Would be great to meet up with others out there.
As for product launches, the iPhone is currently in short supply so that may just be a give away. A tablet styled Mac would be great, and yes, I’d buy one.
Steve said he’d be back around the end of July, so a show at WWDC is doubtful, though not totaly out of the question.

Ah yes @Allan, I forgot to mention snow leopard. I am really looking forward to what changes they have made to the GUI. The rumors have been interesting about the possible changes to the look of Snow Leopard. I’m also looking forward to it both using the multi cores and 64bit side of the Macs as well as OpenCL.
@Philip, I wish I was going. I work for Oracle who have their head office in San Francisco. I keep trying to find an excuse to be over when WWDC is on but not worked out yet. I am planning on attending next year for sure :o)

Hi Guys,
Sorry for off-topic, just didn’t find a better way to reach you.
Your blog is very cool, graphic design looks awesome, .. I am just little surprised about some hidden “adult” text in the html source of the page :-)
Do you aware of that?
Andrew on June 3rd, 2009
* are you aware of that? :)
mike on June 3rd, 2009
Hi Andrew, I was not aware of that and I can also see the content you are talking about. I will get John to remove the content and work out how it was injected into the site so we can stop if from happening again.
I appreciate you spotting that and letting us know.

@Mike
Hi Mike, looks like you’re still being hacked..
Bottom of page source. I read somewhere that there was a way in with wordpress, but I think there is a fix, it might be just a matter up updating the version.
mike on June 4th, 2009
Hi Bob, yes, it still appears to be happening. John is looking into the problem and how to get it stopped, so hopefully have it sorted soon :(

Guys,
If this really happens because of the hole in the WordPress core, please let me know what version you used.
Also if it’s a security bug in some of the plugins – I would appreciate to hear about that as well :)
So, please keep me posted,
Andrew

I’d like to have an iPod Touch with GPS. That’s all I wish for. The iPhone is too expensive here (and it always brings along a high monthly fee) so the iPod with GPS would be awesome.
As for iWork and iLife… They did the mayor upgrade on january, didn’t they? I’m afraid we will have to wait another six months at least. :(
Anyway, if there were a big surprise, I’ll bet it’d be Snow Leopard coming earlier. ;) Now that would be great! :D
Finally, I wish the best for Jobs, but seeing what happened to Apple shares when he said he’ll leave for just six months… I guess it’ll be better if he starts leaving Apple slowly. Don’t take me wrong, he has done an excellent job and I would like to see many more of his ideas come to live, but it would be devastating if he was forced to leave abruptly for whatever reason. :(
